Due to a perfect storm of little glitches, the Stark Mountain Foundation has decided to POSTPONE THE WINE OLYMPICS until further notice. We are currently debating the new date and will let you know as soon as we iron it out.

You can post questions here, or email them to meg@gmavt.net. Again, we will let you know as soon as possible what the new date is. We hope this isn’t an inconvenience and we thank you in advance for your understanding!

Wine & Paradise

Wine is awesome. And Paradise is awesome! Wouldn’t it be cool if drinking wine could support a good cause like restoring Paradise and other similar projects around Stark Mountain? Oh wait – that’s what the Wine Olympics are all about!

Paradise after the slide this summer

You all probably know that a couple of folks went and poached the closed section of Paradise earlier this season, setting back the opening date by about a week. There was a lot of fuss over this poach because the Stark Mountain Foundation had put so much time and energy into restoring the area that slid over the summer. But it turns out that the work put in held up to the beating. The continued patience and respect of the majority of the skiers here, plus a little lovin’ from Mother Nature and Paradise is skiing like a dream right now!

The Wine Olympics is the Foundation’s annual gala, aimed at raising money to continue efforts such as the Paradise restoration.With your support, the SMF can continue to fuel projects around the Stark Mountain like trail maintenance in order to make your skiing experience that much better!

Please go take a run on Paradise and ski for yourself that all the hard work put in was well worth it! Then do your part to support the SMF by going to the Wine Olympics and tasting over 20 incredible wines! Drinking wine is a really easy way to support a great cause! The Wine Olympics will be coming to Mad River Glen, February 19, 2011. Presented by the Stark Mountain Foundation, The Wine Olympics will be a wonderful wine filled evening to benefit the SMF and their goals to preserve the Stark Mountain and all the things we love about it.
